Kukirin G3 Pro: A Budget-Friendly Beast
2400W 52V electric scooter
Hey everyone, welcome back to the channel! Itโs BK42 here, and today, Iโm diving into the world of electric scooters, specifically the Kukirin G3 Pro โ a scooter thatโs been making waves with its powerful dual motors and promises to be a beast on a budget. If youโve been following me for a while, you know Iโve been hooked on the thrill of electric vehicles for as long as I can remember. But does this scooter live up to the hype? Stick around because not only will we find out together, but thereโs also a special surprise waiting for you at the end of this video!
First off, a quick disclosure: Kukirin sent me this scooter to test out and share my honest thoughts with you all. And let me tell you, from the moment it arrived, I could tell this was something special.
Unboxing and First Impressions
The packaging was top-notch. The scooter came in a box that was well-protected with a plastic layer, and inside that was another box! Seriously, I wish all scooters and bikes were shipped with this level of careโbig points to Kukirin for making sure this beast arrives safely.
Now, the KUKIRIN G3 Pro came almost ready to ride right out of the box. Inside, I found some nice extras like stickers, a user manual, a portable air pump, two battery chargers, and even an extra inner tubeโdefinitely a thoughtful touch.
Assembly was straightforward, and with the included tools, I just had to remove the stem cap, position the handlebar, and tighten the four screws. After a quick adjustment of the display, it was ready to roll. Fast and easy!
When I first laid eyes on the G3 Pro, I was immediately impressed by its look and feel. Itโs heavy, solid, and feels like a serious piece of equipmentโalmost like a motorbike!
The aluminum frame is incredibly sturdy, weighing in at nearly 40 kilograms, which gives it a substantial, premium feel. The folding neck is well-designed and offers a very secure riding position. While thereโs no height adjustment for the handlebars, it fits me perfectly, and the locking mechanism is super safeโno worries about it unfolding unexpectedly.
The suspension system is another standout feature. Itโs top-notch and can be upgraded if you want even more stability and comfort.
The scissor design of the suspension really adds to the smoothness of the ride, and I can already tell this is going to be a comfortable scooter to ride for long distances.
And oh, the lights, display, and controlsโtheyโre fantastic! But letโs dive into the details a bit more.
Parts and Specs Breakdown
Now, letโs talk about what makes the KUKIRIN G3 Pro a beast: the dual 1200W motors. When both are engaged, they deliver over 2400W of power, which is pretty incredible!
The scooter promises a top speed of 65 km/h, and for me, weighing in at 82 kilograms, I hit a max of 63 km/hโso it definitely lives up to its speed promise. The motors are quiet and give you the option to ride with just one or both active. Switching between modes is a breeze with the button conveniently located on the left controls. Switching from one motor to two is like hitting a Nitro boost in a carโit just takes off with an impressive burst of speed. Since Iโm still getting used to dual motors, I like to start with one and then activate the second while cruising. Keep in mind, though, that running both motors for extended periods might drain the battery a bit faster.
Speaking of the battery, itโs an absolute powerhouseโa massive, removable 52V, 23Ah battery. You can recharge it on the scooter or take it out and charge it separately.
Removing the battery also makes the G3 Pro much more portable since it lightens the load. Another great feature is the dual charging ports, which allow for a 6 to 7-hour charging timeโpretty quick for such a large battery! The advertised range is 70 to 80 kilometers, but I managed to get about 60 km on a single charge, which is still solid considering factors like rider weight, terrain, and riding style can affect range.
The display on this scooter is huge and provides a wealth of information while remaining easy to read. It shows battery status in both percentage and voltage, current speed, riding mode, motor selection, trip distance, and even indicators for lights and directional signals. The only thing missing to make it perfect would be an audible signal for the turn indicators.
To start the scooter, youโll need the key. On the left side of the handlebar, youโll find all the controls: the power button, single and dual motor switch, turn signals, loud horn, lights, and the rear brake.
The right side houses the front brake and the comfortable thumb throttle.
And letโs talk about those LED lightsโtheyโre well-designed and strategically placed for maximum visibility. There are three front lightsโtwo on the deck and a powerful headlight with a cool cooling housing.
The rear lights are bright and include brake lights that work whether the main lights are on or off, adding a safety boost. The turn signals are also cool, blinking clearly and visibly, though I have to say that in my experience, scooter rear lights arenโt always noticed by other road users. Still, theyโre a great addition on this scooter!
For riding comfort, the spring suspension does an honest job, and the 10-inch tires help smooth out the ride as well. To handle all that power, the KUKIRIN G3 Pro is equipped with excellent XOD hydraulic brakes and dual 140mm rotors. The brakes are strong, and the motor cut-off sensor responds instantly when you touch the levers.
The deck, measuring 21 cm by 55 cm, is spacious enough for various riding positions, and the rubber covering helps keep your feet in place. Itโs also built to carry up to 120 kg, which adds to its versatility for different riders.
The battery lock is located on the top of the deck, protected by a rubber cover, though the cover can sometimes come loose. The default password is set to 0,0,0, but you can customize it to your preference.
With its IP54 certification, I had no issues riding it in wet conditions. And before we get into the price, I should mention that the kickstand does a solid job too!
