When an E-Bike Still Manages to Surprise You

OneSport OT08 Pro Full Suspension Fat Tire E-Bike Review

A Rare Surprise for a Seasoned Rider

You know that feeling when a bike manages to surprise someone who has already ridden just about everything? Yeah, this is one of those moments. And honestly, I didn’t see it coming.
Today, we’re taking a deep dive into the OneSport OT08 Pro, a full-suspension e-bike—more specifically, a full-suspension fat tire e-bike, that initially flew under my radar but ended up leaving a strong impression.

First Impressions: Looks vs. Expectations

When OneSport sent me the OT08 Pro for testing, I wasn’t even sure I wanted to try it. Don’t get me wrong—it looks good. It has a bold, aggressive design that immediately catches your eye. But on paper, the specifications seemed… basic.
Still, after taking it out for its first spin, it became clear this bike had more going on than I expected. And that’s when things got interesting.

Motor Performance: Quiet Strength Where It Counts

Let’s start with the heart of the bike—the motor.
The OT08 Pro is equipped with a 500W motor delivering 65 Nm of torque, and that torque makes a real difference. Whether you’re hauling groceries, climbing hills, or riding fully loaded, the motor feels strong, smooth, and impressively quiet.
Out of the box, the bike is limited to 25 km/h, which keeps it street-legal in most European countries. Once unrestricted, however, it can reach speeds of up to 46 km/h, adding a whole new layer of excitement.

Key Specifications

The OT08’s specs are tailored for urban commuting. Here’s a breakdown of the highlights:

– Motor: 250W, Peak Power: 500W 65Nm
Battery: 18AH+18AH
Gearing: Shimano Altus 7-speed system
Brakes: Hydraulic disc brakes with 160mm rotors
Frame: Lightweight aluminum with smooth, sanded welds
Wheels: 20 by 4″

Torque Sensor: The Real Star of the Show

Here’s the feature that truly surprised me: the torque sensor.
Instead of just responding to cadence, the bike adjusts power output based on how hard you pedal. Push harder? You get more speed. Ease off? The assistance smoothly backs down. Since throttles aren’t allowed where I ride in Europe, I rely entirely on pedal assist—and this sensor is fast, intuitive, and incredibly natural-feeling.
It’s one of those features you don’t fully appreciate until you experience it.

Dual Battery System: Range Anxiety, Eliminated

Range is another area where the OT08 Pro shines.
The bike runs on two removable 48V 18Ah batteries, capable of delivering up to 170 km of range under optimal conditions. During my own 45 km test ride, the battery indicator barely moved.
Both batteries can be charged on or off the bike, and OneSport includes two chargers, which is a huge convenience. A full charge takes about 8–10 hours.
A standout design detail? The rear battery is integrated into a rear rack with a wooden finish, adding both practicality and style.

Frame, Fit, and Weight: Built for Comfort and Utility

The OT08 Pro features a step-through aluminum frame, making it exceptionally easy to mount and dismount. It’s well-suited for riders between 160–200 cm tall and supports a maximum load of 120 kg.
At around 44 kg, it’s definitely not lightweight—but that weight contributes to its planted, stable ride.
That said, carrying it upstairs can be challenging. If you live in an apartment without an elevator, you’ll want to remove both batteries before lifting it.

Suspension and Tires: Comfort with a Firm Edge

Up front, the bike comes with a basic suspension fork—no adjustments, but it does the job. The rear suspension is on the firmer side, which may not suit everyone, but it still helps smooth out rough roads.
The 20×4” Kenda all-terrain fat tires offer excellent grip and stability, and the reflective sidewalls add an extra layer of safety for urban riding.

Braking Confidence: Hydraulic Power

Rolling downhill is the perfect time to talk about braking—and the OT08 Pro delivers.
Equipped with Zoom hydraulic brakes and dual 180 mm rotors, braking performance is strong, predictable, and confidence-inspiring. Two-finger levers provide excellent modulation and stopping power, even at higher speeds.
