What I Love About the Nexxbike X5 Plus

The first thing that stands out on this bike is the massive, centrally located battery. The removable 48V, 25Ah Samsung-cell battery can be charged on or off the bike. It fits inside the frame and locks in place at the rear, leaving part of it exposed. I like seeing Samsung cells here—this battery should last a long time! It also has two USB ports, which is a nice touch.

And if you need even more range, you can upgrade the battery to a 50Ah version, which drastically increases the bike’s range—perfect for those long rides or extended trips!
On my first ride, I managed 41 km, mostly using PAS 4. With my 80 kg weight and the bike’s 55 kg, the battery drained faster than expected. Trust me, you don’t want to run out of power—pedaling this beast home would not be fun! Like most moped-style e-bikes, it’s heavy, and the riding position isn’t the best for pedaling. Braking & Safety Features

Another motorcycle-inspired feature? The hydraulic brakes—and they mean business. The 180mm rotors provide strong stopping power, and the motor cut-off sensors add extra safety.
The handlebars pack a lot of controls, including the computer remote, NFC sensor for security, and turn signal buttons.
The NFC system is a great anti-theft feature—you can’t start the bike without the NFC card.

Comfort and Additional Features

The bike comes with a large saddle that can move in both directions for a better fit. However, I found it a bit too firm. Luckily, Nexxbike offers alternative saddles that might be more comfortable.
The headlight is powerful and stylish, with a permanent ring light for visibility. The turn signals work well, but I often forgot to turn them off—an audible reminder would be helpful.
The bike also has three USB ports and a 12V connector, making it easy to charge devices on the go. The fenders do a decent job at keeping you dry, and the rear fender even has space for a license plate.
